Custom Fields

One of the most exciting features of SIMAnswers is the ability to add custom fields for Questions and Answers.

Each field can be configured to appear for questions, answers, or both. You can choose to make them Required and Admin Only (field value will only be visible to admins and creator of the question/answer)

All custom fields are Bootstrap enabled - radios and checkboxes appear as clickable buttons, and select boxes appear as dropdowns. File attachments are uploaded via AJAX with realtime validation.

You may add a custom CSS class for each field for your own styling.

Field Types

Heading

Display a heading above a set of fields.

Textbox

Add a textbox field. You can set a placeholder, which will appear in the textbox if user has not entered a value.

Password

Add a password field. You can set a placeholder, which will appear in the textbox if user has not entered a value.

Textarea

Add a textarea field. You can set a placeholder, which will appear in the textarea if user has not entered a value.

Radio

Add a radio field with multiple options. Users can select only 1 option.

Checkbox

Add a checkbox field with multiple options. Users can select multiple options.

Single Select

Add a single select box with multiple options. Users can select only 1 option.

Multi Select

Add a multiple select box with multiple options. Users can select only multiple options.

Single Select (SQL)

Add a single select box with multiple options populated using an SQL SELECT query. Users can select only 1 option.

Multi Select (SQL)

Add a multiple select box with multiple options populated using an SQL SELECT query. Users can select only multiple options.

File Upload

Add a file upload field. You can configure the field's accepted file type(s), max file size, and max number of files.
