Allow Public View plugin basically takes over the Community
Builder functionality that controls whether non-registered (public)
users are allowed to view profiles. Instead, users are able to decide
whether or not they wish to allow public access.
Admins can configure the plugin to redirect non-authorized access to the registration page with a popup info, without popup info, or simply redirect the user back to the page it came from.
Important Note Admin must create a CB field (eg, cb_allowpublicview) which can be either a radio button or a single select with 2 values. The name of this field can be set to anything, as the plugin's configuration allows the admin to set the field name. The admin can then place this singular field in any CB tab he wishes, eg. Profile Info. The values are basically Yes or No, but depending on your language, you can set it to any value you wish (eg Ja and Nien in German), as the plugin's backend configuration allows you to configure the values to the one you have used. Make sure you pubish any menu links you have that points to Community Builder as Public (you may publish it inside a menu module that is published as Registered). Community Builder must also be configured to allow public profile views by default. Features Allow Public View plugin has a quite a few configurations. First, lets take a look at the screenshot of the plugin's admin backend:
CB Field Name is the name of the CB field (radio button or single select menu) you have created to allow your users to choose if they wish to allow public access. Field value for "Yes" and "No" contains the values of cb_allowpublicview as mentioned above. The default value is Yes and No, but if you use any other values, you will have to change it here. Default Public Access allows you to set whether public should be able to access profiles by default (ie, before the user manually sets it when updating his profile). Notification Text Displayed is the text displayed to non-registered users when they attempt to view a profile that is blocked from public view. The method by which the notification is displayed is controlled by Notify Type. Notify Type is the way the plugin handles blocked views from unregistered-users. There are 3 ways: Redirect to Registration: The user will be redirected to the CB registration page with the Notification Text Displayed at the top. Javascript Popup Alert (1): The user will receive a javascript popup alert with the Notification Text Displayed on it. After the user clicks "Ok", he will be redirected to the page he tried to access the profile from. Javascript Popup Alert (2): Similar to the first popup type, but redirect to the CB registration page instead. To purchase, visit the Online Store. |
